Monkees

All Aboard the Meme Express – Friday, September 12, 2008

On September 12, 1966, NBC television premiered a new television show, titled The Monkees. Featuring four young men (Mickey Dolenz, Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork), the show actually launched a music career for the group. The Monkees became one of the first boy bands, to screams of delight from adolescent girls.

Today’s Meme Express is all about The Monkees or boy bands or simply monkeys.

Do you remember The Monkees?
Were you a fan . . . or not?
Whatever happened to the original Monkees, anyway?
Which is your favorite boy band . . . or even girl band . . . today?
How do you feel about monkeys?

When was the last time you actually saw a monkey?
Do you believe humans descended from monkeys?
Why or why not?

Feel free to use the questions and images . . . or not.

Post your poem, story, song, photo or other entry on your blog. (Be sure to include a link to the Meme Express. Grab our train graphic from the sidebar for your link, if you want.)

Then come back here, and post a comment with a link to your own entry. (Need help making an active link? See Super-Simple Linking. Feel free to bookmark it for future reference!)

Of course, if this prompt seems to stump you, you are free to peruse the archives of the Meme Express and publish a blog post on an earlier prompt.
