Singing On-Key

All Aboard the Meme Express – Friday, August 1, 2008

Francis Scott Key, American composer ("The Star-Spangled Banner"), was born on August 1, 1779.

Today, our Meme Express prompt is this: singing on-key. Perhaps these questions will stir some creative imaginings:

Do you like to sing?

Do you sing in the car? In the shower?

Have you ever sung a solo in public?

Can you carry a tune, at least in a bucket?

Have you ever felt as if life was out of tune somehow,

even for a short while?

Have you ever actually lost your keys?

What are your keys to living?

You are free to use the images and questions or not. It’s up to you.

Post your poem, story, song, photo or other entry on your blog. (Be sure to include a link to the Meme Express. Grab our train graphic from the sidebar for your link, if you want.)

Then come back here, and post a comment with a link to your own entry. (Need help making an active link? See Super-Simple Linking. Feel free to bookmark it for future reference!)

Of course, if this prompt seems to stump you, you are free to peruse the archives of the Meme Express and publish a blog post on an earlier prompt.

  2. Remember the children's song, "We Went to the Animal Fair"? Well, we re-wrote the lyrics, after attending a regional equine event.

Can't guarantee we sang it in-tune or on-key, but we sure had fun.

  4. Whew! I finally got a chance to stop by again. I can't sing but I really liked reading the post and comments. I love to hear people sing, even off key, as long as they are joyous or passionate about it.
