Grabbing gratefulness for great grin-makers

Who makes you smile? What special people can easily cause you to break out in a big silly grin?

At Thanksgiving time, when we focus extra closely upon the blessings in our lives, we might consider counting such individuals twice or thrice.

French author Marcel Proust (1871-1922) said this about such folks:

“Let us be grateful to people
who make us happy.
They are the charming gardeners
who make our souls blossom.”

Here’s a blogging or creative writing prompt for Thanksgiving week. Use the quote in your post, or simply consider it as a springboard for your own musings. Either way, please remember to mention the Meme Express (and link back here, if you don’t mind).

Then double on back, and leave a comment with a link to your post, so our readers can find what you have published.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Kick It with a Kicky Blog Post

Just for kicks, here’s a new blog topic idea or creative writing prompt. Who’s a little stuck today? See what this popular quotation, citing a famous American President,  inspires.

“If you could kick the person in the pants
responsible for most of your trouble,
you wouldn't sit for a month.”
Theodore Roosevelt

Today’s writing prompt is simple:

kick

Try these questions to kick-start your blogging muse:

  • Are you alive and kicking? (Surely you haven’t kicked the bucket, if you’re reading this blog prompt post.)
  • How do you find your kicks?
  • What do you do, just for kicks?
  • Did you ever try to kick a bad habit?
  • What do you add to kick it up a notch?
  • Have you ever been kicked out of anything?

OK. Kick up your heels, and head back to your own blog. Put up your own kicky post. Use the Teddy Roosevelt quote, if you want. Include the kicky photo, or not. It's up to you!

Then come back here and leave a comment with a link to your latest entry, so our readers can find you!

Blanking Out for Blog Posts

Who’s drawing a blank, when it comes to blogging topics?

Are you wracking your brain and coming up empty for your next post? Do you feel as if your mind may have become a clean slate overnight?

Don't worry. Most writers feel that way occasionally. That's where writing prompts and story starts can be so helpful!

Today’s writing prompt is simple:

blank

 .
 .
What ideas does that word bring to mind?

blank check
entry blank
blank stare
fill in the blanks
blanking out
draw a blank
blank slate
at point blank
blank expression
shooting  blanks
blank page

By now, you may just want to shout:

blankety-blank- blank- blank- blank!

Now, go fill in the blanks on your own blog template. Then c’mon back, and  leave a comment with a link to your “blank” post.
