On January 13, 1974, The Steve Miller Band rocked the top of the popular music charts with their hit single, “The Joker.” Music fans everywhere pondered possible meanings of “the pompatous of love.” To this day, no one really seems to know the definition of “pompatous,” and Steve Miller admitted to inventing the word.
