Dirty Laundry

All Aboard the Meme Express – Wednesday, January 7, 2009

On January 7, 1983, Don Henley made the top of the American music charts with his hit single, “Dirty Laundry.”

Here it is:

.

.

Although this song is not really about laundry at all, the Meme Express prompt for today is: dirty laundry.

Do you like doing laundry?

What tips for laundry can you offer?

What is your favorite detergent?

Do you always do laundry on a certain day of the week?

What is in the bottom of your laundry basket right now?

What does the expression, “laundering money,” really mean?

What other meanings might the phrase, “dirty laundry,” evoke?

Perhaps this concept will inspire you to create a drawing, a poem, a short story, or a journal entry. Then return here to leave a comment with your link. (Be sure to include a link to the Meme Express. Grab our train graphic from the sidebar for your link, if you want.)

Of course, if this prompt seems to stump you, feel free to peruse the archives of the Meme Express and publish a blog post on an earlier prompt.

  2. My elderly mother lived with us for nearly 3 years and insisted on "helping" by doing our laundry. She eventually moved out to help my sister with her chores instead. Mwooooo ha ha ha ha!
