All Aboard the Meme Express – Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Mayflower in Plymouth Harbor
By William Halsall
1882

On September 16, 1620, the Mayflower set sail from Plymouth, England, for the New World. The 180-ton ship arrived in Provincetown, Massachusetts, 65 days later.

Nearly 350 years later, on September 16, 1966, The Beatles topped the popular music charts with their hit single, “Yellow Submarine.”

The Meme Express today offers a choice of keywords:

aboard

journey

Mayflower

New World

pilgrim

ship

submarine

travel

Here’s the Meme Express challenge for the day:

Pick at least three (3) of the keywords, or use as many as you can! Feel free to use the artwork too . . . or not.

Post your poem, story, song, photo or other entry on your blog. (Be sure to include a link to the Meme Express. Grab our train graphic from the sidebar for your link, if you want.)

Then come back here, and post a comment with a link to your own entry.

Need help making an active link?
See Super-Simple Linking.
Feel free to bookmark it for future reference!

Of course, if this prompt seems to stump you, you are free to peruse the archives of the Meme Express and publish a blog post on an earlier prompt.

  1. I have come here from Multiply and I don't know how to create a link. This is where my blog post is: http://jillys.multiply.com/journal/item/1335/Meme_Express

I created a photo but it isn't that good as I am only just learning. Thanks for the inspiration, I enjoyed joining in. Jilly
