American folk singer Arlo Guthrie (son of Woody Guthrie) was born on this date in 1947. Perhaps his most famous song is the 18-minute “Alice’s Restaurant,” from which these lyrics are taken:

“You can get anything you want at Alice’s Restaurant.”
