G is for "Goldfinger."
This James Bond classic, released in 1964 by producers Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, featured Sean Connery (the quintessential 007), battling Auric Goldfinger, Shirley Eaton played Bond girl Jill Masterson, with Honor Blackman prowling around as Pussy Galore.
The film, pure Bond gold, won an Oscar for Best Sound Editing. Several cultural allusions and lampoonings followed by such imitators as “Austin Powers” and “The Simpsons.”

Someday I intend to watch all twenty-odd Bond films, so I too can join the debate on who has done 007 the most justice. For now, I can only decide between Connery, Brosnan, and my personal favorite, Daniel Craig.
ReplyDeleteI think Connery is one of the best Bonds, although Roger Moore did the roles justice. I have to admit I lost interest in all thing Bond when Pierce Brosnan came along.
ReplyDeleteRed.
Who doesn't love a classic? Especially a Bond classic. This is good stuff!
