H is for “The Horse Whisperer.”
Based on a 1995 novel by Nicholas Evans, “The Horse Whisperer” told the story of a brave young equestrian (played by Scarlett Johansson) and her determined horse Pilgrim, both urged to recovery by a skilled and seasoned horseman after a traumatic accident.
Film director Robert Redford played the title role. His character, horse trainer Tom Booker, was loosely based on real-life horse whisperer Buck Branniman.
The cast included Kristin Scott Thomas, Sam Neill, and Dianne Wiest.

Heigh-de-ho!
Gotta love a good horse story. This tale held some unbridled horsing around as well, although it was tastefully hinted off-camera, rather than blatantly. Hey, it was supposed to be a wholesome family film.
As a horse lover, I have to admit it.
My heart fluttered far more when Robert Redford and Kristen Scott Thomas galloped across the wide open countryside than during the scenes the filmmakers may have deemed considerably more romantic. Redford seasoned pretty well, but handsome horses in flight catch my eye far more. Maybe you agree. (If not, we need to talk.)
