I is for “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”
Here’s a classic action-adventure movie, with a bit of history, legend, and spiritual significance tossed in for good measure. Moviegoers cheered at the chance to see Harrison Ford take on the Nazis again, assisted this time by his father, played by Sean Connery.
The cast included River Phoenix, John Rhys-Davies, Alison Doody, Denholm Elliot and Julian Glover.
The Indiana Jones franchise includes several films so far:
- “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981)
- “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” (1981)
- “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” (1989)
- “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (2008)
While hoping George Lucas and Steven Spielberg will reel Indiana Jones in again for more installments, many movie buffs regard “Last Crusade” as the Holy Grail of the lot. This favoritism is not simply because that legendary biblical artifact is the object of Indy’s search in this film. The story line and symbolism are simply captivating in this one.
Personally, I liked this film best for many reasons. (For one major reason, check out the G-Day post, published April 6th on the Meme Express. Uh-huh!) Who doesn’t love Indy’s step of faith, and what about the dear old knight?
Plus, I loved the last scene, when they galloped away through the canyon.

This one's my favorite in the series, too. Everything seemed to click perfectly. "It belongs in a museum!"

Although Star Wars is my first love, I must admit I have a fondness for Indy. I love Raiders of the Lost Ark. Many great memories seeing that movie as a kid.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! Good luck with the rest of the challenge!
